Carta Ao Porto #1
The first issue of the PiKiZine ‘Carta Ao Porto’ was released in May 2026.
Folded as an origami envelope, the zine is viewed by fully opening this ‘letter to Porto’. The name can also be interpreted as a ‘map’ to the city.
Outside, ‘A Nova Semiotica’ is a collage of images showing how the city communicates with residents, and how the residents in turn communicate with the city.
Inside, the foundations of the city, the stones on which and from which it is built, and the connections between time and place are evoked in image and words.

This small ceramic heart and text were, for several years, on a wall close to FBAUP (faculty of fine arts, University of Porto).
It has recently… disappeared. But it has been immortalized in our zine.
The zine was shown and given away as part of the ‘Insignificante’ exhibition.
